    Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research is looking to fill our Test Technician role. In this position you will perform lot release testing on a variety of materials. You will also be involved in post-test inspection of test specimens.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Set up laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control
    • Perform a variety of quality, customized tests which will analyze materials to determine strength, stability, purity, chemical content, and other characteristics, in order to identify any performance/reliability issues with the material
    • Organize and maintain the test lab
    • Safely operate tools such as a band saw, grinder, sander, polisher and mounting machinery
    • Maintain detailed records of test results
    • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • US Citizenship required
    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Willingness to learn
    • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Strong time management skills
    • The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
    • Mechanically inclined individuals preferred
    • Experience working with blueprints preferred
    • Ability to stand, sit, or move around for prolonged periods of time
