Position Summary:
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) will coordinate and participate in a variety of technical tasks, tests and determinations involving the utilization of radioactive materials and measurement instrumentation. The NMT will operate radiation detection and measurement instrumentation including stationary imaging devices and scintillation gamma cameras. The NMT will calibrate and draw up radiopharmaceutical materials for administration to patients, formulate radiopharmaceutical materials, and review calibration data to detect trends indicating instrument malfunction. The NMT will calculate data to include results of patient studies and radioactive decay, evaluate recorded images for technical quality, perform Nuclear Cardiology studies including image acquisition and process and monitor patient vital signs. The NMT will rotate through the on-call schedule and must be willing to report back to work during any emergency situation, this includes if needed during inclement weather, mass casualty, internal disaster, etc. The NMT will complete other duties as assigned.

Medium - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 20 to 35 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
