Under the direction of the Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist and in accordance with the guidelines established by the Medical Director, functions as a technologist within the Nuclear Medicine Department. Assumes immediate responsibility for the technical operation of the Nuclear Medicine department, and assists in the supervision of daily activities of the personnel and physicians in the diagnosis of disease by performing Nuclear Medicine testing which produces imaging of patient’s organs and circulating systems through the use of radiopharmaceuticals. Calibrates equipment and closely follows radiation safety guidelines to ensure quality control and limited exposure of patient, self, and work areas to radiation. Performs all clerical and limited patient transport duties.
