What You'll Do
The Pantex Projects Engineering FEPS Line Supervisor will provide leadership, technical direction, and oversight to Fire Protection Engineers (FPE) responsible for the final project documentation deliverables on project construction and safety system upgrades as part of the project portfolio. Responsible for maintaining safe working conditions and safety awareness, flow down of goals, performance reviews, time card approvals, setting priorities/expectations and integrating work of a team of FPE’s. Monitors department workload and ensures the performance of the organization’s execution of established scope, budget, and schedule. Advise management of staffing needs necessary to address both forecast and emerging workload. The candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to energize, organize, and lead groups of engineering personnel. The vision is that this person will have a team of resources and be responsible for a section of the project scope (1-3 projects) as a sub-team which is part of the overall team. Responsible for task assignments for project documentation, field verification of installation conditions, system testing and procedure adherence and documentation, high-level knowledge/experience with applicable NFPA governing codes and proper application
Develops and provides qualified technical resources to execute Project Support Engineering functions in support of Pantex mission deliverables. Maintains a staff with knowledge and ability to serve as primary contacts for mission engineering on CNS projects. Line Supervisor will provide direction for multi-disciplined teams in the development of deliverable documentation and in resolving design issues with adherence to related project specified criteria. May also be required to assist in major procurement efforts associated with project work. Finally, learn the Manager position to act as a temporary substitute and/or potential permanent successor for that position.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program in the United States or designated equivalents from Canada or Mexico, the Washington Accord, or the list of substantially equivalent as documented by ABET. A Professional Engineering License (PE) is preferred but not required.
- 5 years relevant experience.
- In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related science and 4 years nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternative). DOE 426.2 experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. (Ref. DOE O 426.2).

- Knowledgeable of Pantex business and operations support, resources, practices, processes, and policies needed to solve problems and accomplish work
- Skills in effective planning, writing, organization, communication, schedule compliance, personnel management and design management
- Technical expertise and full knowledge of related engineering systems, applications of engineering and construction methods and materials
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to various engineering disciplines
- Demonstrated experience in project management as a project leader and/or project support lead.
- Ability to read, and/or interpret complex engineering drawings
- Ability to conduct formal presentations to plant personnel and other interested parties
- Ability to present information clearly and effectively through the oral and written word

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
