Nuclear Laboratory Technologist Supervisor jobs in Asheville, NC

Nuclear Laboratory Technologist Supervisor supervises personnel engaged in diagnostic laboratory testing. Performs assigned phases of nuclear research under the guidance of Director of Nuclear Medicine. Being a Nuclear Laboratory Technologist Supervisor assists medical students with hands-on instruction and equipment training. Monitors inventory of radioisotopes. Additionally, Nuclear Laboratory Technologist Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board or registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine. The Nuclear Laboratory Technologist Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Nuclear Laboratory Technologist Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Job Summary and Qualifications

    The Staff Nuclear Medicine Technologist’s primary responsibilities are to produce diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures as ordered and assist physicians or radiologists in delivering high-quality patient care.

    The Nuclear Medicine Technologist model’s adherence to the Hospital’s applicable policies, protocols, practices, and expectations

    • Nuclear Medicine imaging and computer manipulation and processing
    • Camera quality control radiation safety
    • Radioisotope administration and documentation
    • Image processing and labeling
    • Scheduling of procedures
    • Use of office computers, filing system, phone and paging systems
    • Transporting of patients

    What qualifications you will need:

    • Must have satisfactorily completed a two-year training program in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent North Carolina state license
    • Must be certified through the ARRT
    • New hires or transfers to a different modality must achieve certification within six months of that assignment
    • Must maintain current CPR certification
    • Venipuncture certification
    • Must be current with continuing education requirements
    • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
    • Strong interpersonal skills that reflect a positive attitude and a sense of teamwork
