Performs assigned phases of nuclear research under the guidance of Director of Nuclear Medicine. Being a Nuclear Laboratory Technologist Supervisor assists medical students with hands-on instruction and equipment training. Monitors inventory of radioisotopes. Additionally, Nuclear Laboratory Technologist Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board or registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine. The Nuclear Laboratory Technologist Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Job Description:
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is looking for a Chemical Coordinator. Specific responsibilities include: requesting procurement of chemicals for work at NRF, assisting in and overseeing chemical Trade Storage Areas (TSA's), managing the chemical check out/in process for consolidated TSA's, performing required inspections of TSA's, and interfacing with various groups and organizations to assist with determining their chemical needs. Chemical Coordinators also mentor Authorized Chemical Users in the correct use and storage of chemicals, accessing and understanding Safety Data Sheet information, and develop updates to the NRF Chemical Management Procedures and forms as necessary.
Applies detailed knowledge of a specific technology or science gained through education or experience to write work packages and provide directions for complex work evolutions. Collaborates with subject matter experts to convey technical direction and explanation of technology in a manner which permits independent operation and maintenance. Exercises judgment and discretion in ensuring proper environmental, safety and health requirements are met.
