Nuclear Laboratory Technologist Supervisor jobs in Ogden, UT

Nuclear Laboratory Technologist Supervisor supervises personnel engaged in diagnostic laboratory testing. Performs assigned phases of nuclear research under the guidance of Director of Nuclear Medicine. Being a Nuclear Laboratory Technologist Supervisor assists medical students with hands-on instruction and equipment training. Monitors inventory of radioisotopes. Additionally, Nuclear Laboratory Technologist Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board or registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine. The Nuclear Laboratory Technologist Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Nuclear Laboratory Technologist Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Space Dynamics Laboratory is seeking a System Administrator to design, implement, secure, and maintain systems and associated applications, services, and components. This is an on-site, non-remote position for our North Logan, UT location.

    SDL supports a variety of missions, including NASA's vision to reveal the unknown for the benefit of humankind and the Department of Defense's aim to protect our Nation on the ground, in the air, and in space. Our sensors, satellites, software systems, and science and engineering play an essential role in some important missions you've heard of, and others that you haven't.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Achieves in-depth knowledge of company processes, systems, and networks
    • Monitors assigned systems to ensure high availability, optimum performance, and security
    • Assists with the day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades
    • Follows established IT policies and procedures to perform audits and ensure compliance
    • Ensures data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions
    • Work with your leaders to prioritize projects, requests, changes, and tasks
    • Document issues in Jira, communicate progress (though updates, workflow status, due date etc.) as the issue is being worked
    • Understand and utilize Change Management when adding, modifying, or removing anything that could have an effect on IT services
    • Proactively monitors assigned systems to ensure high availability, optimum performance, and security
    • Assists in installation and configuration of information systems and components
    • Assists in the design and implementation of information systems
    • Responsible for documentation of assigned systems and solutions
    • Willingness to travel if required, though not usually expected
    • Become DoD 8140 compliant within 30 days of hire

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Five years IT systems administrator experience
    • Experience with Active Directory domain administration, group policies, and file shares
    • Willing to perform maintenance and support on systems outside of core hours (on-call) as required
    • Strong organizational skills, quick learner, and demonstrated problem solver
    • Able to apply knowledge to complex, practical situations
    • Work well independently and as part of a team
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with a wide range of internal and external customers
    • Ability and desire to continue learning new skills as system needs grow and change
    • Server and desktop configuration and maintenance experience
    • Ability to manage installation and maintenance of monthly security patches

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • BS degree or equivalent experience in information technology, computer science, information systems, engineering, or related computer field
    • Ten years IT systems administrator experience
    • Experience with automation (patching, scripting, etc.)
    • Knowledge of DoD Security Requirements within classified spaces
    • Understanding of information systems security best practices and use of security tools such as Nessus, SCAP, and applying STIGs
    • Experience with one or more of the following would be helpful: system build and maintenance, system patching in an enterprise environment (batchpatch/MECM/etc.), backups, workstation encryption, Virtualization (VMware), storage, administration of Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket, MSSQL, etc.
    • Active TS/SCI w/ adjudicated polygraph (please disclose any clearance when applying as all are beneficial)
