Nuclear Medicine Director directs and coordinates all aspects of nuclear medicine. Sets policies and procedures for administering radioactive isotopes and therapy to treat and diagnose patients. Being a Nuclear Medicine Director ensures medical services meet the patient quality standards set by the organization. May require an advanced degree. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Director typically reports to top management. The Nuclear Medicine Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Nuclear Medicine Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     High school graduate possessing typing skills, communication skills for dealing with public and medical community, aptitude for operation of computers, file systems, dictation units.
