Nuclear Medicine Director directs and coordinates all aspects of nuclear medicine. Sets policies and procedures for administering radioactive isotopes and therapy to treat and diagnose patients. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Director typically reports to top management.     I. JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

    Under general supervision, performs imaging and dynamic function studies in order to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses.

    Education Successful completion of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine Technology.

    Experience

    Skills

    * Exhibits interpersonal and verbal communication skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients and families, who may be under physical and/or emotional stress.

    * Ability to process diagnostic images through computer manipulation and technique.

    Licenses

    * Maryland State licensure, Accreditation by the ARRT and or NMTCB

    * Maintain "Healthcare Provider" CPR course

    Physical Requirements

    * Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

    * Ability to lift and position patients for up to 30% of work time and to stand and walk for up to 80% of work time.

    Working Conditions

    * Routine exposure to radioactive materials with little chance of injury when Regulatory Commission and

    * COMAR policies are followed.
