We are seeking an individual to fill the role as Systems Director for the Nuclear Operations Directorate to provide leadership and technical expertise for the systems development life cycle of both classified (TS/SCI) and unclassified NC3 systems in support of customers across the NC3 Enterprise. This is a high visibility position which requires excellent interpersonal, communications, and understanding of the NC3 Weapon System. The selected candidate will provide mission assurance oversight, systems engineering, integration, detailed technical analysis of on-going and proposed modifications and upgrades to the NC3 Enterprise. This position will also be responsible for coordinating with Aerospace management and all tasks requiring the Aerospace Engineering Technology Group (ETG) member(s) supporting tasks for the NC3 Enterprise customer. The capability to be a proactive liaison for The Aerospace Corporation in building relationships with Air Force and contractor personnel is imperative. The candidate will be responsible for defining and developing new business opportunities with new and existing customers. This position can be based at Barksdale AFB LA; Hanscom AFB, MA; Hill AFB, UT; Offutt AFB, NE; El Segundo, CA; or Washington D.C. Travel will be required. What You'll Be Doing * Capability to work independently in providing direct communications systems expertise to NC3 Enterprise leadership and coordinate reach-back activities to Aerospace ETG workforce
    * Build proactive relationships as a liaison for The Aerospace Corporation to Air Force and contractor personnel
    * Provide technical analysis and technical leadership to develop the next generation of NC3 communication architectures and requirements
    * Manage ETG personnel designing, analyzing, and simulating space and terrestrial communication system architectures and create communication analysis tools
    * Coordinate tasks and participate in technical meetings with the NC3 the applicable NC3 Enterprise program office representatives
    * Present technical and project status briefings to management and customers
    * Travel is required What You Need To Be Successful Minimum Requirements: * Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or science
    * At least 12 years of experience in ICBM/NC3/Space systems development and acquisition
    * Project development experience and proven track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams
    * Experience working with Federally Funded Research and Development Centers and University Affiliated Research Centers
    * Expertise in NC3 weapon systems
    * An Active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required, which is issued by the US government. US Citizenship is required by to acquire security clearance
    * Proven acquisitions and systems engineering expertise in the development and evaluation of communication architectures, requirements, SOWs, and requirements verification for programs across the DoD
    * Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer interface skills are needed, as is a proven ability to interact with customer and contractor personnel in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment
    * Ability to present results optimally in briefings and technical reports
    * Excellent organizational, as well as written and oral communication skills
    * Ability to lead and mentor team members How You Can Stand Out It would be impressive if you have two or more of the following: * Expertise in Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs), Minuteman III and Sentinel programs
    * 15 years of experience in ICBM/NC3/Space systems development and acquisition
    * Previous experience with Aerospace Corporation communications programs and customers
    * Strong background in communication systems, architectures, and networks
    * Experience with protected satellite communications
