Being a Nuclear Medicine Director ensures medical services meet the patient quality standards set by the organization. May require an advanced degree. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Director typically reports to top management. The Nuclear Medicine Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. The Senior Nuclear Medicine Tech performs routine and some special procedure imaging, as well as prepares patient for procedures. They will assist radiologists when needed and prepare, operate, and care for the equipment being used and develop/process film/CDs when needed. The Senior Nuclear Medicine Tech will adhere to established radiology “standards of care” and apply principles of radiation protection, when appropriate to minimize exposure to patient, self and others.
