Nuclear Medicine Technician provides diagnostic aid to physicians by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Administers and records isotope dosages in accordance with established departmental protocol. Being a Nuclear Medicine Technician observes patients during procedures and reports any abnormal activity. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Technician typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Requires registration with the Nuclear Medicine Technology certification Board, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.), or the American Society of Clinical Pathology. JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of a Nuclear Medical Director/Technical Director (per ICANL classification) performs Nuclear Medicine procedure at a technical level not requiring constant supervision for technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures, which will require independent judgment with ingenuity and the initiative to apply nuclear medicine procedures for a proper radiological diagnosis. Technologist is responsible for a designated area.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education: Current CNMT or ARRT (NM) Certification
BLS Certification
2. Experience: Theoretical instruction combined with clinical experience.
At least 3 years of clinical nuclear medicine experience on a full time basis
Satisfactory references from previous employer or school of Nuclear Medicine
A broad, working knowledge of computers
