Nuclear Medicine Technician jobs in Springfield, MO

Nuclear Medicine Technician provides diagnostic aid to physicians by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Administers and records isotope dosages in accordance with established departmental protocol. Being a Nuclear Medicine Technician observes patients during procedures and reports any abnormal activity. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Technician typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Requires registration with the Nuclear Medicine Technology certification Board, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.), or the American Society of Clinical Pathology.     • Job Summary
      • Independently, or under the direct supervision of a physician, performs radiology procedures consistent with the established standard of medical care in radiology, following policies and protocols using established anatomical positioning and physiology to produce optimum images, while keeping patient welfare, confidentiality and comfort a top priority.
    • Job Requirements
      • Education
        • Required: Successful completion of accredited Nuclear Medicine program
        • Preferred: Associates Degree in Nuclear Medicine
      • Experience
        • Preferred: 1-2 Years Related Experience
      • Skills
        • Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
        • Knowledge of current diagnostic radiology technical information.
        • Proficient in using computers and computer systems.
        • Excellent time management, interpersonal, presentation, organization, prioritizing, decision-making, and planning skills.
        • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
        • Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams.
      • Licensure/Certification/Registration
        • Required: R.T. (N) (ARRT) OR NMCTB
        • Required: Must obtain BLS within 90 days of hire date
