Nuclear Medicine Technologist jobs in Albany, GA

Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals for use in both diagnostic studies and therapeutic treatments. Creates and enhances diagnostic images using a variety of imaging equipment and tools. Being a Nuclear Medicine Technologist collects biologic specimens and prepares data for interpretation by physicians. Follows radiation safety guidelines and documents radiopharmaceutical usage for regulatory compliance. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Technologist may require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically requires certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     • The technnologist is responsible to perform high quality diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures according to the established protocols, under the supervision of a qualified physician for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases. Maintains the necessary records to the required standards of the Department of Natural Resource's standards. The technologist provides direct patient care to all ages of patients. The technologist is provide very good customer service; that is to treat every patient with respect, courtesy, and explain the exam to the patient. The technologist must be able to work together with others providing a positive work environment.


    Qualifications

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
    • Vocational / Technical Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology (Required)
    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
    • 1 - 2 years Nuclear Medicine (Preferred)
    CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURES
    • Required Certifications/Licensures: Certified Nuclear Medicine Technology (N)(ARRT) or Certified Nuclear Medical Technologist (NMTCB), Basic Life Support (BLS)
