Nuclear Medicine Technologist jobs in Albuquerque, NM

Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals for use in both diagnostic studies and therapeutic treatments. Creates and enhances diagnostic images using a variety of imaging equipment and tools. Being a Nuclear Medicine Technologist collects biologic specimens and prepares data for interpretation by physicians. Follows radiation safety guidelines and documents radiopharmaceutical usage for regulatory compliance. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Technologist may require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically requires certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     Responsibilities

    • Prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals for use in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

    • May provide clerical support for assigned department to include but not limited to scheduling appointments, record keeping and answering phones.

    • Perform quality control and maintains equipment and reports areas of concern to appropriate manager.

    • Adhere to policies, procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.

    • Maintain credentials and/or licensures.
    • Participate and attend departmental meetings.
    • Take ownership of assignments; other duties as assigned or requested.
    • Communicate and listen effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understand instructions and shares knowledge.

    • Cooperate and interact with supervisors, peers, other departments, and all customer groups demonstrating our commitment to “service”.

    Qualifications

    Job Requirements

    • Graduate of an Accredited Nuclear Medicine Program.
    • ARRT(N), or NMTCB, or ASCP(N)
    • Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certificate issued by State of NM
    • CPR Certified

    Preferred Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Two (2) years of related experience of which one (1) year was a clinical internship
