Nuclear Medicine Technologist jobs in Anchorage, AK

Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals for use in both diagnostic studies and therapeutic treatments. Creates and enhances diagnostic images using a variety of imaging equipment and tools. Being a Nuclear Medicine Technologist collects biologic specimens and prepares data for interpretation by physicians. Follows radiation safety guidelines and documents radiopharmaceutical usage for regulatory compliance. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Technologist may require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically requires certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

    Responsible for performing nuclear medicine procedures.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • must be able to prepare and inject radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging.
    • Receives and records appropriate information regarding receipt of radioactive materials.
    • Performs quality assurance procedures on all equipment.
    • Process diagnostic images and prepares reports for Cardiologist.

    PAY RANGE: $38-58/hr to start (dependent upon experience and education)

    Experience: Minimum of one year experience in nuclear medicine.
