Nuclear Medicine Technologist jobs in Fort Worth, TX

Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals for use in both diagnostic studies and therapeutic treatments. Creates and enhances diagnostic images using a variety of imaging equipment and tools. Being a Nuclear Medicine Technologist collects biologic specimens and prepares data for interpretation by physicians. Follows radiation safety guidelines and documents radiopharmaceutical usage for regulatory compliance. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Technologist may require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically requires certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     This 50 bed hospital provides a range of medical services with advanced technology for its patients and community. Services include sleep lab, radiology program, critical care, orthopedic, pulmonology, emergency, surgical, stroke, maternity, and much more.

    The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will report directly to the Director of Radiology. They will be accountable for operating all equipment associated with the Nuclear Medicine department to include the Stress Lab, transportation of patients to and from the department, while assisting in managing the daily schedule. They will assist in cleaning of rooms, ordering of supplies, transmitting images to PACS, provide quality patient care and some clerical work. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist works closely with the radiologist and cardiologist that supervise and interpret the images.

    The Nuclear Medicine Technologist must be a graduate of an accredited school and be NMTCB registered. This position is Monday through Friday working in the Nuclear Medicine department as well as the Stress Lab and will rotate in the on-call schedule as well as the holiday schedule with the existing staff.

    During their time off, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist will get to enjoy all that Texas has to offer.
