Nuclear Medicine Technologist jobs in Hialeah, FL

Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals for use in both diagnostic studies and therapeutic treatments. Creates and enhances diagnostic images using a variety of imaging equipment and tools. Being a Nuclear Medicine Technologist collects biologic specimens and prepares data for interpretation by physicians. Follows radiation safety guidelines and documents radiopharmaceutical usage for regulatory compliance. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Technologist may require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically requires certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     1. Reviews Imaging Request form for proper examination and appropriate clinical information on request form and if not available, follows through to obtain information from patient, nursing unit or physician
    2. Performs Nuclear Medicine scans using proper protocol established by Radiologist

    a)    Performs exams in a timely manner

    b)    Consistently produces images of good quality as determined by Radiologist

    c)    Reviews, verifies and acknowledges all exams on day of procedure

    d)    Administers radioisotope material according to protocol

    e)  Selects appropriate program for the desired protocol

     

    1. Follows emergency procedures when indicated
    2. Makes himself/herself available during emergency situations.
    3. Ensures all images are properly processed and sent to the PACS for interpretation. 
    4. Performs Nuclear Medicine procedures on all age groups.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 1 year of Experience
    • Performs Nuclear Medicine procedures on all age groups.
    • High School Diploma
    • BLS Certification
    • NMTCB Certified Nuclear Medicine
    • ARRT Registered Technologist Nuclear Medicine Technology
    • Bilingual Preferred (English/Spanish) 
    • Active FL License
