Nuclear Medicine Technologist jobs in Oakland, CA

Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals for use in both diagnostic studies and therapeutic treatments. Creates and enhances diagnostic images using a variety of imaging equipment and tools. Being a Nuclear Medicine Technologist collects biologic specimens and prepares data for interpretation by physicians. Follows radiation safety guidelines and documents radiopharmaceutical usage for regulatory compliance. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Technologist may require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically requires certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Duties include acquiring and processing of patient studies, setting up reading for physicians, maintaining accurate and complete daily records.

    Contract Assignment - 13 Weeks (Temporary)

    Requirements:

    • AHA Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers
    • BSN from accredited nursing program, and proper licensure
    • Excellent communication skills with the staff, physicians, patients, and families
    Work Experience: At least 2 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine (Certified Nuclear Medicine)
