Nuclear Medicine Technologist jobs in Washington, DC

Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals for use in both diagnostic studies and therapeutic treatments. Creates and enhances diagnostic images using a variety of imaging equipment and tools. Being a Nuclear Medicine Technologist collects biologic specimens and prepares data for interpretation by physicians. Follows radiation safety guidelines and documents radiopharmaceutical usage for regulatory compliance. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Technologist may require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically requires certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     Join the PET/CT team at Johns Hopkins Medical Imaging! We are hiring for PET/CT technologists at Bethesda, a freestanding outpatient site that is centrally located within the community and offers free parking on-site.

    As a PET/CT Technologist, you will utilize radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals to perform or assist in the performance of diagnostic examinations, including the preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals and radionuclide imaging of organs and organ systems of patients. You will experience a range of patient demographics and conditions while working on state-of-the-art equipment and updated protocols.

    You will work closely in a team of PET/CT technologists and a team of clinical leadership who are dedicated to fostering growth and opportunities.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School diploma including successful completion of an approved curriculum in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
    • Two (2) years of full time Nuclear Medicine experience.
    • Nuclear Medicine Technologist license by the Maryland Board of Physicians.
    • ARRT CT certification
    • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board certified with current registration.
    • CT experience required
    • CPR certification required within three months of employment.
    • Leadership skills

    Full Time (40 hours)

    9:30am - 6:00pm
