Nuclear Pharmacist under the direction of a physician, compounds and dispenses radiopharmaceutical drugs to medical care providers. Responsible for procuring, compounding, dispensing, and distributing radiopharmaceuticals. Being a Nuclear Pharmacist analyzes drugs for verification of identity and strength. Must have completed a program in nuclear pharmacy. Additionally, Nuclear Pharmacist may require an advanced degree of pharmacy. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Requires license to practice. Nuclear Pharmacist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. Responsible for supervising and performing all pharmacy oncology operations in accordance with accredited hospital policies and procedures, ethical and professional practices, Joint Commission standards and State and Federal requirements.
Pharm D. degree from an accredited university with an ASHP accredited PGY1 residency plus 2 years of oncology experience preferred.
Pharm D. degree or BS Pharmacy from an accredited university with 5 years of oncology experience preferred.
Applicant must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy.
