Nuclear Pharmacist under the direction of a physician, compounds and dispenses radiopharmaceutical drugs to medical care providers. Responsible for procuring, compounding, dispensing, and distributing radiopharmaceuticals. Being a Nuclear Pharmacist analyzes drugs for verification of identity and strength. Must have completed a program in nuclear pharmacy. Additionally, Nuclear Pharmacist may require an advanced degree of pharmacy. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Requires license to practice. Nuclear Pharmacist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. Summary: The preparation, dispensing, and monitoring of medications used for the prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of disease. To ensure the safe delivery of and administration of medications to the patients of Roger Williams Hospital.
Education: In addition to the skills normally obtained through completion of a High School education, a minimum of 5 years of college with the completion of a Baccalaureate degree in Pharmacy, including 1500 hours of internship and licensure by the Rhode Island State Board of Pharmacy is required. Must annually accrue 15 continuing education credits as required for licensure.
Experience: Hospital Pharmacy experience is preferred, but not required.
