What will I do as a Pharmacist for The Wesley Community?

• Fill orders for nursing home residents.
• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the pharmaceutical programs and activities of this facility; assuming responsibility for all aspects of pharmaceutical services in the absence of the Supervising Pharmacist.
• Assist in reviewing department policies and procedures, at least annually, and participate in making recommended changes.
• Fill employee prescriptions.
• Perform med reconciliation for new admissions.
• Assure proper maintenance of patient profiles and physician's orders.
• Check med carts that are filled by Pharmacy Technician.
• Assure that all nursing services staff follow the facility's established pharmaceutical policies and procedures.
• Interact with insurance companies.

Pharmacist Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from accredited Pharmacy College.
• Current, unencumbered New York State Pharmacy License.
• Experience in long-term care, in-house pharmacy preferred.
• Current New York State Pharmacy registration.
