Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care plans and implements the overall nursing policies, procedures, and services for a long-term care facility. Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, and training clinical staff. Being a Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care ensures that nurses are current in competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training. May provide direct patient care and is responsible for evaluating patient health. Additionally, Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care may require an advanced degree. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. MORE ABOUT THE RN REGISTERED NURSE – LONG TERM ACUTE CARE (LTAC) POSITION:
- Receive admission and / or transfers to the unit
- Initial and on-going systematic patient assessment
- Timely and accurate documentation
- Interpret assessments / diagnostic data including labs and telemetry
- Promote continuous quality improvement
- Respond to life-saving situations, using nursing standards and protocols for treatment
- Act as a patient advocate while providing education and support to patients and their families
- Demonstrate excellence in customer service and public relations to promote a positive professional image
JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THE RN REGISTERED NURSE – LONG TERM ACUTE CARE (LTAC) POSITION:
- 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience
- Valid RN license in Georgia or your state of practice
- ICU experience or Stepdown experience required
- Advanced MS/Tele experience preferred
- Basic Life support (BLS) and ACLS certification required
- Experience with Trachs, Vents, Hemodymanics, Critical Drips, ET Tubes and Wound Care
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
