Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care plans and implements the overall nursing policies, procedures, and services for a long-term care facility. Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, and training clinical staff. Being a Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care ensures that nurses are current in competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training. May provide direct patient care and is responsible for evaluating patient health. Additionally, Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care may require an advanced degree. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.
