Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care jobs in New York, NY

Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care plans and implements the overall nursing policies, procedures, and services for a long-term care facility. Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, and training clinical staff. Being a Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care ensures that nurses are current in competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training. May provide direct patient care and is responsible for evaluating patient health. Additionally, Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care may require an advanced degree. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     RN (Registered Nurse) Duties Include:

    • Medication administration and treatments.
    • Assist with admission, transfer and discharging of residents
    • Document resident care services by charting in resident medical record and department records.
    • Educate residents regarding treatment, rehabilitation, change of status, etc… as well as family members.
    • Adhering to infection control policies and procedures as well as all other facility policies and procedures.
    • Consult with resident’s physician regarding resident’s plan of care as well as notifying them of any changes.
    • Maintain resident’s confidentiality and privacy.
    • Assure quality of care by adhering to DOH standards of practice and facility standards of care.
    • Assist with solving resident’s problems by working with the interdisciplinary team.

    RN (Registered Nurse) Requirements/Qualifications:

    • Must possess a NY RN license
    • Experience in long term care preferred
    • Excellent communicator, positive attitude, and team player

    Salary: $55 an hour

    (based on experience)

    Shift Needs:

    • All shift available.
