Nurse Manager - Phone Triage manages the day-to-day operation of a nurse triage call center and implements established policies, procedures, and service models. Uses performance and quality standards to achieve and maintain required care delivery levels. Being a Nurse Manager - Phone Triage monitors operations with call data analysis to identify trends, measure productivity, and respond to increases in demand for services. Conducts recruitment and selection activities to maintain optimum levels of nursing staff. Additionally, Nurse Manager - Phone Triage ensures compliance with nursing staff standards for competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training. Responds to escalated problems and may provide patient care evaluations and recommend responses. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Nurse Manager - Phone Triage manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Nurse Manager - Phone Triage typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     We are looking for an Experienced full-time Triage Nurse for our Pediatric Office. This position is available for a licensed individual with outstanding customer service abilities.     Requirements

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provides triage advice
    • Schedules patients appropriately as per protocol
    • Takes requests for prescription or prescription refills and ensures all prescription requests are approved by a provider.
    • Ensure all lab/consultation results are reviewed by a provider.
    • Performs basic patient care activities including organization of medical records to ensure provider has all the necessary information available during the patient’s encounter.
    • Prepares patients for examination and treatment, instructs patients in basic testing requirements, and assists provider by the administration of medications and vaccines as directed by a provider.
    • Performs administrative duties as needed; registration of patients, referrals per practice policy, scheduling of outside specialists, chart preparation, and other administrative duties.
    • Other duties that may be assigned by supervisor.

    EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION AND CREDENTIALS:

    • Completion of an accredited LPN program
    • Current Virginia license
    • 1-3 years general nursing experience (pediatric experience a plus)
    • Will train new graduate with current Virginia license
    • Will train “return to workforce” nurses with current Virginia license or ability to obtain a license

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

    • Basic computer skills (electronic medical records experience a plus)
    • Team & service oriented, organized, has good judgment, punctual with stable work history
