Nurse Practitioner - Emergency Room jobs in Jacksonville, FL
Nurse Practitioner - Emergency Room works in collaboration with a physician to assess the physical needs of patients admitted to the emergency room. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Emergency Room prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Requires a master's degree. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Emergency Room requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a physician. Nurse Practitioner - Emergency Room's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Job Description
As an emergency room nurse (RN ER), you will be the first line of defense for patients who require any type of urgent medical care. You will treat patients who are suffering from trauma, injury or severe medical conditions. Working quickly to assess the condition of the patient, you will provide necessary care, monitor health conditions, administer medicine, and utilize medical equipment. Once the patient is stabilized and their medical problem is treated, you will then determine whether the patient should be discharged or make arrangements for a longer hospital stay.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent acute care experience in specialty
- ASN, ADN, BSN or MSN required
