Responsibilities:
- Provide primary care services to patients in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and medical offices.
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and assessments.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.
- Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests as needed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on health management and disease prevention.
- Perform procedures such as spinal taps, neonatal ventilator management, and catheter care.
- Provide specialized care for specific populations, such as working with people with developmental disabilities or pediatrics.
Qualifications:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the appropriate specialty area (e.g., Family Practice, Pediatrics).
- Strong clinical knowledge and skills in primary care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
Skills:
- Previous experience working in an emergency department
- Knowledge of developmental disabilities and experience working with this population.
- Proficiency in performing procedures such as neonatal ventilator management, alimentation, spinal taps, and catheter care.
- Experience in pediatrics or medical office settings.
