Avera is currently seeking Nurse Practitioners (NP) looking to deliver the best possible care in Avera’s patient-focused settings.

Job Summary

• Provides appropriate medical care to all patients under the supervision of the supervising physician by assessing physical, psychological and social dimensions of patients; applying knowledge and understanding of human behavior in health and illness.

Education and/or Experience

• Graduate from an advanced practice provider program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (AAHEP), Registration by the South Dakota State Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners or South Dakota Board of Nursing.
• No prior experience necessary.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• License in South Dakota as Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. 
• Federal and State of South Dakota DEA certification. 
• Providers are required within 6 months from hire to have certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS.

Work Schedule

• Weekend shift Friday to Monday AM; 28 hours every 2 weeks
• Weekend rotation: 10 weekends per year 
• Holiday rotation: 1 holiday weekend per year
• On Call
• Typical shift length: 24 hours
