Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital is looking for Nurse Practitioners to provide medical care to our patients in a clinical setting under the supervision of a physician. Experience working in the behavioral health field is strongly preferred.

Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital is a 105 bed free standing hospital that provides acute inpatient treatment for adolescents, adults, and older adults in behavioral health and substance use crisis.

Qualifications/Licensure:

• Licensed by the South Carolina State Board of Medical Examiners.
• Current licensure/certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with authorization for prescriptive authority.

Job Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing care in connection with the interdisciplinary team, under the supervision of a physician. All care provided will be reviewed by the supervising physician in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

• Performs and records the patient history and physical examination in accordance with hospital policy and in compliance with standards and regulations. Establishes differential diagnosis and communicates findings with the physician.
• Orders appropriate lab and diagnostic procedures and provides follow up care when needed.
• Synthesizes data to determine primary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing established medical principles.
• Demonstrates the ability to recognize and critically assess any changes in patient's condition and reports such to the physician.
• Facilitates coordination and development of a comprehensive and individual plan of care in collaboration with patient, family, and multidisciplinary team.
• Facilitates one on one communication with primary care physician regarding current and ongoing patient care needs.
• Acts as a hospitalist service liaison with patient care staff.
• Acts as a liaison and facilitator between hospitalist, staff members, case managers, and attending physician regarding patient.
