Ensures proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Being a Nurse Practitioner may prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests. Advises patients about continuing care. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires RN. Participate in the educational programs for surgical personnel as well as other members of the medical staff Participate in monitoring the quality, safety and appropriateness of patient care Participate in developing and updating policies and procedures specific to urology Demonstrate ethical conduct and serve as a positive role model to others at all levels of the organization Participate in quality assurance programs and chart reviews as needed.
Attend Surgical Services staff meetings Complete medical records in accordance with Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff Participate in committee assignments as determined by the ACOS.
