Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal works in collaboration with a physician to assess the physical needs of newborn patients. Provides care for newborns and infants in a neonatal setting. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a physician. Requires Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) in specialty area based on RN licensure and state authority for advanced practice.     CHI St. Alexius is looking for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our practice in Bismarck, North Dakota. The NICU is supported by tremendous long standing support staff, Neonatologists, and NNPs.  We are a growing hospital employed team in a multispecialty facility of outstanding providers. 

    Practice Details:

    • Three 12 Hour Nights per week - with flexible scheduling ability
    • Join team of employed NEOs and NNPs
    • Level III NICU
    • Participate in Neonate transports
    • Over 1,000 annual deliveries
    • Neonatologists on call from home
    • All independent OBGYNs

    Responsibilities

    Patient Care:

      • Diagnose and treat various medical conditions.
      • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
      • Conduct thorough medical examinations and histories.

    Communication:

      • Provide clear and concise medical information.

    Documentation:

      • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

    Diagnostic Procedures:

      • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging.
      • Perform procedures as needed
      • Collaborate with specialists for further diagnostic evaluation.

    Team Collaboration:

      • Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
      • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
      • Provide consultative services to other healthcare providers.

    Quality Improvement:

      • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
      • Review and analyze clinical outcomes for continuous improvement.
      • Implement changes to enhance patient care and safety.

    Compliance:

      • Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice.
      • Stay informed about healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
      • Participate in quality audits to ensure adherence to standards.

    Continuous Learning:

      • Stay abreast of medical advancements and best practices.
      • Participate in ongoing medical education and training.
      • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.

    Qualifications
    • American Board Certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty
    • A valid and unrestricted state medical license or license-eligible
    • Requires NNP Post-Professional Certification
    • Ability to obtain licensure in North Dakota
