Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal works in collaboration with a physician to assess the physical needs of newborn patients. Provides care for newborns and infants in a neonatal setting. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a physician. Requires Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) in specialty area based on RN licensure and state authority for advanced practice. A great Children’s Hospital affiliated facility is looking for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner NICU to join their NICU Advanced Practice team in South Texas. The NICU Nurse Practitioner Neonatal will have Level III or Level IV NICU experience and will be able to provide care independently.
The NICU NP will be credentialed and trained at two hospital sites in South Texas and will work between both sites to provide coverage when needed. The NP NICU will work two, 24 hour shifts per week and will be required to either relocate to the area or travel to the area for shifts.
The NICU Nurse Practitioner will join an excellent organization that is consistently awarded for their performance in specialty services and quality patient care. The NICU Advanced Practice team and Physicians are very experienced and are looking forward to welcoming a new NICU NP to their organization.
