Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal works in collaboration with a physician to assess the physical needs of newborn patients. Provides care for newborns and infants in a neonatal setting. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a physician. Requires Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) in specialty area based on RN licensure and state authority for advanced practice.   • Heartland Women's Healthcare is currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our OB/GYN practice for our Carbondale and Marion, Illinois locations.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illnesses.
    • Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments.
    • Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients.
    • Develops and implements patient management policies and procedures.
    • Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities.
    • Communicate with collaborating physician or specialist regarding patient care.

    Job Qualifications:

    • Master of Science degree with completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required.
    • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
    • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
    • Current BLS certification or obtained prior to providing direct patient care is required.
    • DEA and CDS eligible.
    • 3 years’ experience as a NP preferred.
    • Nurse practitioner license in Illinois preferred.
    • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse in Illinois preferred.
