Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal works in collaboration with a physician to assess the physical needs of newborn patients. Provides care for newborns and infants in a neonatal setting. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a physician. Requires Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) in specialty area based on RN licensure and state authority for advanced practice. Under general supervision of the Clinical Health Team Supervisor, provides primary health care in the areas of family planning, women’s wellness, and sexual health to clinic clients. Responsible for medical management of health conditions including prescribing and dispensing medications. Performs health assessment, teaching, counseling, direct care, referral and case management to prevent, treat and control diseases or adverse health conditions and promote optimal health in individuals and families with limited access to quality health care. Provides consultation services to other clinic staff.
This is a part-time (24 hours a week) benefited position based out of the Public Health building in Holland, Michigan. Travel to other County locations as needed. Operation hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm with most Tuesdays 9:00am-6:00pm.
Set schedule is decided between the employee and supervisor upon hire.
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Master of Science Degree in Nursing (M.S.N.) from an accredited college or university and Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner and eighteen months of progressively responsible and demonstrably successful experience in clinical practice.
