Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal works in collaboration with a physician to assess the physical needs of newborn patients. Provides care for newborns and infants in a neonatal setting. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a physician. Requires Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) in specialty area based on RN licensure and state authority for advanced practice. St. John Medical Center is seeking two full time Neonatal Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Hospitalists, in beautiful Longview, Washington. The Nurse Practitioners will respond to the newborn population needs, in the inpatient setting, and work in collaboration with Family Medicine with Obstetrics Physicians, OBGYN’s, and Pediatricians at St. John Medical Center. The ideal candidate will have three to five years of Neonatal provider experience and hold an NRP Certification.     Highlights about the practice:

    • Core Functions:
      • Rounding on all newborns
      • Respond to neonatal resuscitation (including intubation) for all deliveries
      • Manage and have oversight for other newborn conditions that are currently transferred out for, thus, keeping all revenue within Longview and families together, as intended.
      • Phototherapy, IV glucose support, IV antibiotics, and Short duration CPAP
      • Neonatologist Telemedicine support
    • Schedule: Variable:
      • Two twelve-hour nightshifts per week
      • One onsite twenty four-hour shift once per two weeks
    • EPIC EMR with on-site: Medical Social Workers, Dietitians, Clinical Pharmacist, Diabetic Specialists, Hospice & Palliative Care Specialists, Phlebotomist, Behavioral Health, In-house Controlled Substance Management and Chronic Care Coordination Teams
