Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal works in collaboration with a physician to assess the physical needs of newborn patients. Provides care for newborns and infants in a neonatal setting. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a physician. Requires Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) in specialty area based on RN licensure and state authority for advanced practice.     Responsibilities

    Pediatrix has an opportunity for an experienced neonatal nurse practitioner or physician assistant with NICU experience to join our network of experienced healthcare providers in one of the largest neonatology practices in the mid-Atlantic.This is a multi-hospital NICU practice based in Richmond, VA and is affiliated with the Bon Secours Richmond Health System

    • St. Mary's Hospital is a 25-bed Level 3 NICU with pediatric subspecialties support including pediatric surgery, and services include high frequency ventilation and whole body cooling.
    • St. Francis Medical Center (14 beds) and Memorial Regional Medical Center (9 beds) are Level 3A NICU's with limited subspecialty support
    • Shifts are a combination of days, nights and 24 hour weekend shifts.
    • Providers cover services including neonatal intensive care, normal newborn nursery, labor and delivery room, transport team coverage and NICU follow up clinic services
    • We encourage active involvement in quality improvement, outreach and education activities

    Qualifications

    • Must have a minimum of a Master's Degree in Nursing
    • National Nursing Certification Required
