Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal works in collaboration with a physician to assess the physical needs of newborn patients. Provides care for newborns and infants in a neonatal setting. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a physician. Requires Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) in specialty area based on RN licensure and state authority for advanced practice.     Responsibilities

    Excellent opportunity for a neonatal nurse practitioner to join our dedicated group of eight neonatologists and team of NNPs providing high-quality care at the Carilion Clinic Children’s Hospital (CCCH) in scenic Roanoke, Virginia.

    • The hospital is a designated regional perinatal center with 3,100 deliveries annually.
    • Our 60-bed Level-IIIB NICU has 730 admissions annually and an average daily census of 42 babies. Services provided include high frequency ventilation and nitric oxide.
    • There are two maternal-fetal medicine specialists on staff and the hospital offers a full range of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties.
    • The CCCH NICU is a member of VON, the Virginia Neonatal Practice Collaborative and participates in quality improvement initiatives and research projects.
    • As one of our NNPs, you will provide 24-hour in-house coverage caring for critically ill neonates and attend high-risk deliveries.

    Roanoke, Virginia is located midway between New York, NY and Atlanta, GA and is 168 miles west of the state capital of Richmond, VA.
