Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal jobs in San Antonio, TX

Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal works in collaboration with a physician to assess the physical needs of newborn patients. Provides care for newborns and infants in a neonatal setting. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a physician. Requires Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) in specialty area based on RN licensure and state authority for advanced practice.     A progressive pediatric group of neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners are seeking additional NNPs to join their busy practice.

     

     

    Responsibilities

    • The group provides a full range of newborn/neonatal care in three inner-city hospital systems with multiple Level-II and Level-III NICUs
    • The medical community includes a wide range of mother and infant subspecialists supported by two children’s hospitals for this growing South Texas area
    • We welcome new graduates and provide a comprehensive new graduate orientation and mentor program 
    • Responsibilities include managing and facilitating comprehensive neonatal care including programs for HFOV, nitric oxide and ECMO

    • Current APRN national specialty certification
    • Minimum of a master’s degree
