Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Neonatal requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a physician. Requires Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) in specialty area based on RN licensure and state authority for advanced practice. An Award winning Coastal California non profit Medical Center is seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Manager NICU to lead their high acuity newborn nursery.
Reporting to the Nurse Director of Maternal Child Health, the Manager of NICU will collaborate with a team of: tenured nurses, educators, respiratory therapists, advanced practice nurses and physicians. The NICU Manager will provide guidance to a high reward environment, focusing on quality and patient care. The Nurse Manager Neonatal Intensive Care Unit will be supported by a team of 4 Assistant Nurse Managers, with oversight of over 90 FTE’s.
The Nurse Manager of NICU will manage retention and recruitment of nurses and other patient care professionals while assisting with staff development for individuals involved in patient care through self-improvement in education and experience.
The Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse Manager will facilitate the collaboration between trained neonatologists, nurses and respiratory care practitioners. The large Neonatal Nursery sees patients of the highest acuity, and the center performs surgeries in-house. The Manager of Children’s services will be responsible for the 24-hour supervision, budgets, staff retention and education, and quality reports.
