Nurse Practitioner - Specialty Care works in collaboration with a physician to assess the physical needs of patient's medical type such as psychiatric, oncology or obstetrics. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Specialty Care prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Requires a master's degree. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Specialty Care typically reports to a physician. Requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) in specialty area based on RN licensure and state authority for advanced practice. Position Overview: The Nurse Practitioner provides continuous and comprehensive healthcare services necessary for the promotion of optimal orthopedic health, prevention and treatment of orthopedic conditions to adolescents and adults. This includes the assessment, diagnosis, and management of orthopedic disorders. The Nurse Practitioner collaborates with others in the department to assure smooth flow of exceptional patient care.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Education and Experience: Master of Science in Nursing; current license to practice Nursing in the state of MS; current license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the state of MS; current prescriptive authority in the State of MS; 2-5 years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred. Experience in orthopedics or musculoskeletal specialty is preferred.
