    The Department of Family Medicine in the College of Human Medicine, Michigan State University seeks a gerontology nurse practitioner to care for patients in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities in the Lansing community. We are a collegial group of geriatric physicians and nurse practitioners who deliver comprehensive, high-quality care to older adults at multiple skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. We are the Geriatrics Division of MSU HealthCare, a division of the Department of Family Medicine, and practice within the multispecialty group practice of Michigan State University. Nurse practitioners in our practice work closely with geriatricians in a team-based care model, delivering continuity care, acute care, preventive care, and hospital discharge management. We work closely with skilled nursing facility staff. As an academic practice, we welcome residents and students in all patient care settings.

    Education/Experience
    The position requires a Master’s of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice; possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse; and specialty certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan. Certification as a Gerontological Specialist, and/or equivalent experience in geriatric practice, is strongly preferred.
