Job Description

Granite State Pain Associates in Concord, NH is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team for triage support. This position is full-time, Monday - Friday with weekends and Holidays off. The candidate will be responsible for answering triage calls, assisting with medication refill requests and prior authorizations, coordinating care with other healthcare professionals and performing Nurse visits as needed. The candidate may also be asked to perform other job-related tasks within the scope of practice for an RN or be asked to assist with in office procedures. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in Pain Management, Orthopedics, and/or Primary Care, a current BLS certification and experience with Athena.    

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' medical conditions and determine the urgency of their healthcare needs
• Provide appropriate medical advice and treatment recommendations
• Responds promptly to incoming calls during business hours
• Screen patient’s COVID – 19 needs via telephone. Consult with medical providers when needed in order to recommend most appropriate action for the patient.
• Make necessary referrals for insurance authorizations. Document in the electronic medical record.
• Assist with medication refill requests and prior authorizations 
• E-Prescribe, Printing and/or faxing medication refills as ordered by the provider and/or standing orders.
• Coordinate patient care with other healthcare professionals
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
• Document patient information and treatment plans accurately and thoroughly
• Provide education to patients and families regarding health care needs
• Perform Nurse visits with patients on an as needed basis.
• Adhere to all agency, State, and Federal healthcare regulations, guidelines, policies and procedures including (but not limited to) clinical, health and safety, pharmacy, nursing and laboratory guidelines.
• Performs other job-related tasks as assigned, when time allows
• Maintain patient confidentiality

Requirements

• Active nursing license, in good standing with the state of New Hampshire
• Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting
• BLS certification
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient with EMRs and Windows software
