Nursing Assistant assists nursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients. Assists patients in dressing, undressing, bathing, eating, walking, and other activities. Being a Nursing Assistant ensures patients' well-being and comfort. Changes bed linens and assists with patient transportation to tests and procedures. Additionally, Nursing Assistant may serve and collect food trays and provide patients with between-meal nourishment. May record temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor. The Nursing Assistant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.     Up to $2,500 hiring bonus for eligible full-time external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.

    Hours: Full Time (36 Hours Weekly) Variable Shift

    Under direct supervision this position is accountable to the bedside RN and charge nurse to facilitate a safe and secure environment for the patient, family and providers in the department in completion of the duties delegated to them for the shift and maintaining clear communication between the needs of the patient through the RN and Charge Nurse. These activities focus on maintaining a safe, hazard free, clean environment which facilitates patient focused care.

    Required qualifications:

    • Coursework/Training: Medical Terminology course. Or,
    • Successful completion of hospital Medical terminology test within 90 days of hire.
    • Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Completed training as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
    • 6 months Health care experience.
