Nursing Assistant assists nursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients. Assists patients in dressing, undressing, bathing, eating, walking, and other activities. Being a Nursing Assistant ensures patients' well-being and comfort. Changes bed linens and assists with patient transportation to tests and procedures. Additionally, Nursing Assistant may serve and collect food trays and provide patients with between-meal nourishment. May record temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor. The Nursing Assistant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. The Assistant Director of Nursing Services (ADON) works in concert with the Director Of Nursing to maintain quality standards of care in accordance with Federal, State and facility standards, guidelines and regulations. The primary responsibilities of the ADON include supervising the nursing staff education, infection control, and overseeing patient care as well as administrative functions such as record keeping.
Qualified candidates must possess a current RN nursing license in the Commonwealth of MA. Associates degree from an accredited school is preferred. At least 2-3 years in nurse leadership in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment are required. Previous experience with Dementia/Geriatric Psychiatry a plus.Our Mission Statement
