Nursing Assistant assists nursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients. Assists patients in dressing, undressing, bathing, eating, walking, and other activities. Being a Nursing Assistant ensures patients' well-being and comfort. Changes bed linens and assists with patient transportation to tests and procedures. Additionally, Nursing Assistant may serve and collect food trays and provide patients with between-meal nourishment. May record temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor. The Nursing Assistant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. MAJOR PURPOSE :
Reporting to the DNS, the ADNS will direct the routine functioning of the nursing staff by assuring the overall supervision of all nursing personnel concerned with resident care and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations, policies, and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Registered Nurse licensed in NY
Preferred: 3 years' experience in a skilled nursing facility and 2 years nurse management preferred
Required: Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility in a Managerial or Supervisory capacity with an understanding of LTC Rules & Regs
Required: Infection Control Certification
Wound Care Certification is a Plus
CPR certified.
Has background in and understanding of Medicare guidelines
