Nursing Assistant assists nursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients. Assists patients in dressing, undressing, bathing, eating, walking, and other activities. Being a Nursing Assistant ensures patients' well-being and comfort. Changes bed linens and assists with patient transportation to tests and procedures. Additionally, Nursing Assistant may serve and collect food trays and provide patients with between-meal nourishment. May record temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor. The Nursing Assistant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Job Description:
Under general supervision, the CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) performs a combination of the following duties in caring for patients in the facility, consistent with the patient's plan of care and established care standards and facility policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include:- Provide personal hygiene for patients.
- Assisting with basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating.
- Assist in the transport of residents.
- Takes and records patient's vital signs.
- Maintain a clean and healthy environment.
- Provide supervision and guidance for patient's during skills building and daily activities.
- Performs/assists with oral care including brushing and flossing of teeth, swabbing gums, denture care, and administration of mouthwash.
- Sterilize and prepare tools and equipment.
- Follow safety procedures and ensures safety of residents.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned or required.
Qualifications:- CNA (Experienced CNAs and New Grads welcome)
- Current, active CNA Certificate or graduation from a CNA Certification program
- High school graduate or equivalent (Preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills - must be able to read, write and speak English
