Nursing Assistant assists nursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients. Assists patients in dressing, undressing, bathing, eating, walking, and other activities. Being a Nursing Assistant ensures patients' well-being and comfort. Changes bed linens and assists with patient transportation to tests and procedures. Additionally, Nursing Assistant may serve and collect food trays and provide patients with between-meal nourishment. May record temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor. The Nursing Assistant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.     Geriatric Nursing Assistant GNA

    POSITION SUMMARY:

     DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • GNAs provide daily care and services that support the nursing care delivered to residents and patients.
    • Our GNAs deliver care services to residents and patients including:
      • Assistance with bathing
      • Changing linens
      • Properly positioning patients
      • Offering hydration
      • Checking in on patients in the morning and night
      • Taking/ recording vital signs
      • GNAs may perform other/similar duties as assigned by the nursing department when necessary
    QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be a licensed GNA in good standing with the state (as required)
    • Able to react to emergency situations appropriately when required
    • Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition
    • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English Language
    • GNAs must be a caring individuals dedicated to providing high quality care to our residents/patients
