Nursing Director Assistant - Nursing Home administers the nursing program in a nursing home in the absence of the Nursing Director. Oversees operations in order to maintain standards of patient care. Being a Nursing Director Assistant - Nursing Home advises management, patient care staff and administrators in matters related to nursing service. Assists in the establishment and implementation of policies and develops organizational structure and standards of performance. Additionally, Nursing Director Assistant - Nursing Home interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups. Typically requires an advanced degree of nursing. Typically reports to the Nursing Director. Requires RN license. The Nursing Director Assistant - Nursing Home supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Nursing Director Assistant - Nursing Home typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Job Summary

    The ADON/Assistant Director of Health Services (ADHS) assists the Director of Health Services (DHS) in managing the department of health services (nursing). The position conducts the nursing process – assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation – under the scope of the State’s Nurse Practice Act of Registered Nurse licensure. The position coordinates resource utilization, timely and appropriate care interventions, and interdisciplinary communication to enhance patient and family satisfaction, adherence to center’s clinical systems and regulatory compliance for the center. The ADHS Duties is responsible for collecting, trending, analyzing, and reporting data and manages the nursing department in the absence of the DHS.

    Education/Qualifications

    • Currently licensed as RN in the state in which the facility is located; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
    • Current CPR certification.
    • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements including, but not limited to, OSHA and CMS
    • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
    • Computer skills required. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office products including word, power point and excel.
    • Persons who have been found guilty of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or mistreatment or misappropriation of property by a court of law; or who has a finding in the State nurse aide registry concerning abuse, neglect, exploitation, mistreatment of residents or misappropriation of resident property, or has had a disciplinary action in effect taken against his/her professional license are not eligible for employment in this position.

    Experience

    • Required: Two years’ experience as a RN with 1-year nursing supervisory experience.
    • Prefer experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing.
